　今年もJRA阪神競馬場の特別貴賓室にて、冬の恒例行事となったアーリントンカップ観戦イベントを行ないました。この日は阪神競馬場の開幕日でもあるため、貴賓室から見下ろす芝生の緑がとても鮮やかです。今年参加した45名は、例年を大きく上回る79名の応募の中から選ばれた強運の持ち主ばかり。本番のアーリントンカップ前に出走するレースから予想を適中させる方もいらっしゃって雰囲気は最高に盛り上がって行きます。

　そしていよいよ本番のレース開始。大本命のコパノリチャードが後続を圧倒し、1.5馬身以上突き放して優勝しました。表彰式ではリネハン総領事から優勝馬の馬主であるDr.コパさんに優勝カップが手渡されました。本命馬が勝ったことで多くの方が見事に予想を適中され、レース後に行なわれた懇親会ではお互いの成果を披露し合いながら、楽しい時間を過されました。

 

    We had our winter annual event to watch the Arlington Cup Horse Race from a VIP room at JRA Hanshin Race Track.  As this day was the opening day for the Race Track in 2013, the green on the course was amazingly beautiful as we looked down from the room which came with a magnificent view.  This year we had as many as 79 applicants for 45 places, so the people attended all possessed good fortune having successfully passed the draw.  Towards the main race the atmosphere was getting electric as some of the members went on winning race to race. 

   In the Arlington Cup race, Copa-No-Richard, the No.1 favorite, easily won by one and half horse length.  USCG Patrick Linehan handed the Cup in the winner’s ceremony to the owner of the horse, Dr. Copa, a famous feng shui (fusui) master and a familiar face on TV.  Because the race was won by the most favorite horse, many could predict the winning tickets and in the reception held afterwards the atmosphere became most pleasant and delightful as people exchanged each other’s results.
