今年は駐大阪・神戸米国総領事館　ケリー総領事をお迎えし、４月１３日（土）JRA阪神競馬場の特別貴賓室にて、恒例行事となったアーリントンカップ観戦イベントを、総勢４２名の皆様方と開催致しました。当日は、お天気にも恵まれ、貴賓室から見える芝生の緑と桜の

花で、場内は春の陽気に包まれていました。午後１時半、ケリー総領事のご挨拶から始まり、JRA植田場長のご挨拶、JRA職員の方によるミニレクチャーの後、アーリントンカップまでの各レースを新聞やモニターを見ながら予想したり、パドックを訪れたりと、皆様それぞれ楽しんでおられました。今年のアーリントンカップは、１２番人気の伏兵・イベリスが鮮やかな逃げ切りで重賞初制覇、２着は７番人気のカテドラル、３着は１１番人気のトオヤリトセイト、１番人気のフォッサマグナは１６着に敗れ大波乱となりました。レース後の懇親会では、一日の成果を披露しあいながら楽しい時間をすごされました。

 

On April 13th 2019, we welcome Ms Karen Kelley, the Consul General of US Consulate General Osaka, and held the annual event at the Arlington Horse Racing Cup. There were total 42 guests and watched the races from the VIP room at JRA Hanshin Race Track. The weather was blessed with full of green and cherry blossom.

Our event commenced at 1:30 pm with the speech, giving by Consul General Ms. Kelley and the representative of JRA, Mr. Ueda. Then, we had the small lecture from the JRA staff. Some guests made a bet on the races, some checked and focused on the TV monitors, some studied their racing forms, and some guests visited the horses on the paddock.　The “Arlington Cup” race was won by the horse “Iberisu”, the second place was “Cathedral”, and the 3rd place was “Toyaritoseito”. The most popular horse “Fossa Magna “was defeated and ranked end with 16th. At the end, we held the party and everyone was enjoy exchanging their day with drinks and snacks.
